Hardcover. In very good condition,
minor bumping to corners and spine ends, previous owner has taped rear flap
from a different state DJ inside the front cover, previous owner markings on
front endpaper and inside rear cover. DJ has minor chipping and creasing, now
in mylar cover. Laid in items have one fold, horizontally across the middle of
the page. Signed by the author on the half-title page. Laid in, 4 pages
(197-200) from Volume 39 (1971) of the Utah Historical Quarterly which includes
the text of a letter written by Kelly to "Rod and Dale" (Morgan)
telling of his discovery of Chief Walker's grave near Kanosh (Utah). The letter
recounts the story that a 10-year old Piede slave boy was buried alive with
Chief Walker, along with two Piede slave women. The laid in pages also include
a memoriam, by A R Mortenson, for Kelly, who died April 19, 1971. The story of
